Elif Kabakci obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Eskisehir Technical University in Materials Science and Engineering. Elif conducted her master thesis research on microstructure design and reduction of thermal conductivity of polyurethane foam under industry thesis cooperation program supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). Later she started her PhD studies at Gebze Technical University in department of Materials Science and Engineering. During her Ph.D., she also worked on a project investigating plane and microtubular shape solid oxide fuel cells having double layer electrolyte which is supported by TUBITAK. She defended her Ph.D. which is about the elimination of pyroplastic deformation in bone china ceramic bodies in July 2021. She joined the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) as a post-doc researcher regarding the scholarship of TUBITAK in September 2022. Her current activities at IREC are focused on the 3D printing of monolith ceramics in different geometries to increase their catalytic conversion efficiency.
